Skincare FAQ

How do you define non-toxic skincare?

We only use products that are safe and healthy for your skin and environmentally sustainable. We know that not all natural products are safe or sustainable and that not all unnatural products are bad. We like to think we did the research for you, but in case you’re interested, here are the ingredients we say “no” to in our services: Drying Alcohols (SD Alcohol 40, Denatured Alcohol, Ethanol, and Isopropyl Alcohol), Octinoxate and Oxybenzone, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Triclosan, Parabens (Propylparaben, Isopropylparaben and Isobutylparaben), Diethanolamine and Formaldehyde.

What precautions are you taking with offering skincare services during COVID-19?

In addition to our standard safety and sanitation procedures, we have made the decision to avoid using steam at this time, and instead will use warm towels in our services. As an added step, we ask all skincare clients to fill out a wellness form prior to each appointment. We also ensure each client maintains a distance of six feet from each other and we limit the number of individuals in the treatment area to under ten. During your facial service, the esthetician will wear a shield over their mask to provide an extra layer of protection. Finally, we allow for 15 minutes between each appointment for thorough disinfection of the facial area.

Which add-on service is right for me?

If you’re unsure which add-on service may be right for you, don’t worry! We can customize or substitute your add-on after your skin analysis (which happens with every facial, every time!). If you have additional questions, don’t hesitate to email our team.

How should I prepare for my appointment? What should I expect during it?

Leave it to us! During your appointment we always cleanse the area of treatment, so there’s no need to wash your face beforehand. Our appointments are all efficient and customizable, so you can get the treatment you need in a timeframe that works for you. Our skincare services focus on the area of the skin from the décolletagé and above – so please wear a v-neck or other top that allows us to treat the skin immediately below the face.

Are there any aftercare guidelines I should be aware of?

You may notice some increased skin sensitivity for 24 – 48 hours after your facial service. During this time it’s important that you drink lots of water, wear SPF and only use quality products on your skin (don’t forget that we sell all the products we use on your skin!). We also recommend avoiding harsh exfoliants and making sure all of your pillowcases and towels are clean.

Anything Else?

If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Transparency is kind of our thing, and we’re here to make sure you feel great about getting your services with us.
